Those of you who have studied in China, if you missed Mara(麻辣) of the homeland, come here!

I thought it was weird due to the growing popularity of Mara(麻辣) when I returned to Korea after studying in China but I was disappointed that the Korean Mara restaurant I visited while missing memories was somewhat “localized” vaguely.

Among them, one of the dishes I always wondered why mara was so popular in Korea and why it didn’t serve in Korea is the main menu of the restaurant I’m going to introduce today, “Shaun mao du (涮毛肚)”. In fact, in the area where I lived, this was called Maoduguo(毛肚锅) or Kkanyangguo, and I got to know the official name of this dish after I came to Korea.

Makes my mouth water just looking at the picture.

As with ordinary Chinese restaurants, I recommend that as many people go together as possible to add various ingredients and order side dishes. Especially recommended ingredients include frozen tofu (冻豆腐), minced shrimp (虾滑), young cabbage(娃娃菜), and glass noodles (粉条). In particular, frozen tofu may be a little unfamiliar, but it was great because the spicy soup was soaked in savory tofu with holes.

And maybe because of the characteristics of Daerim, or because Chinese people who live in Korea visit the restaurant, the staff who took the order wasn’t good at speaking Korean. So that’s why she brought me the menu with pictures. If you order, you just point to the picture on the menu and say “zhège (jjeogeo, it means ‘this’)”. If you don’t like cilantro, then you tell her to leave it out! Búyàoxiāngcài!!

Hate cilantro!
