I’m gonna talk about our trip to Thailand and Myanmar with Yang Jin-am monks and Bodhisattvas in Daegu, before the outbreak of COVID-19.

As a Buddhist country, Buddhist temples and Buddhist statues are located everywhere.

It looked old at a glance^^

When you go on a pilgrimage, you shout out the temple and Buddhist scriptures at the place where important Buddha statues similar to Daeungjeon Hall (?) are placed in each temple. At first, it was unfamiliar, but since I often go on pilgrimage, I get used to it, so I often shout out a few verses automatically.

It’s a large Buddha statue in Watpo Temple that tourists visit when they come to Thailand.

Although it is extremely large, there are Buddhist statues as big as this in Korea.

This is the water taxi you have to take when you come to Thailand. I couldn’t visit the water market due to time,

It’s a famous place in Thailand, so come and experience it~

This is Ayutthaya, a representative travel destination in Thailand.

It is a city located about 80km away from Bangkok and has a 400 year history of prosperity.

Ayutthaya is a city with a rich Buddhist history and value that has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Among them, the most famous photo zone is the face of the Buddha statue surrounded by the roots of the barley tree.

During the war between Thailand and Myanmar, Myanmar soldiers cut off the heads of Buddha statues, and barley trees grew between the heads of the statues, making them look like they were covering the Buddha’s face and turning them into a religiously valuable place.

Other than that, there are many Buddhist towers everywhere, so they are of great historical value. ^^

We can’t leave out elephants when we think of Thailand, right?

Lastly, I show you Thai shabu-shabu, which is our Bodhisattva’s lunch, and please look forward to the next Myanmar blog~~
